When is the New Download Experience Available?
The new Download experience, presented as part of Accounts , has been available since June 2020.
Why is the Download site moving to Accounts ?
Having a standalone experience for Downloads added effort to the user experience. Users had to remember yet another URL to visit and spend their time trying to figure out which artifacts are compatible with the products they purchased and deployed.
By moving Downloads to Accounts, we addressed these issues with a personalized, centralized experience. This redesign also allowed us to address some usability issues that existed in the old experience.
Will I need a specific role to access Downloads?
No. Every user with access to Accounts (regardless of role) will have access to the Downloads experience.
Will our CI/CD deployment change?
We only updated the Downloads UI, so there is no impact to your CI/CD deployment or any automation you may have already implemented.
Why don’t I see Enterprise Console or EUM Server as options to Download?
If you’re a SaaS only customer, Enterprise Console or EUM Server are not relevant to you. By moving to Accounts, we can detect the licenses you have. We heard from a few customers that they only wanted to see what is relevant to them.
How do I know what agents are compatible with the version of the Controller we have?
The Compatible with Controller version filter is available as of September 2020. To use it, select both the Controller version and Agent(s) you want to download. The filter results will give you the latest version of the Agent(s) that are compatible with the Controller version.
Who do I reach out to if I have further questions or problems?
If you have any further questions or problems, please contact our Customer Support team or visit the Accounts Overview page to see your Support agreement.

We’re excited to announce a new and improved Download experience: We're combining the download site with Accounts to provide a consistent experience and only one URL to remember.
https://accounts.appdynamics.com/downloads
We want to ensure the artifacts you’d like to download are easily visible and are confident these updates will improve your downloading experiences. At the same time, moving to Accounts has given us a sleek and intuitive modern UI.
NOTE: If you programmatically download products into your CI/CD pipelines, there is no impact to you. If you want to learn more about how to download programmatically, please read Download AppDynamics Software .

Our Goal
Personalization
We implemented personalization so you'll only see artifacts that are relevant to you. If you're a SaaS customer, you'll only see the Agents download. If you're an on-premises customer, you'll see the Agents and Platform tabs, where we combined everything on-premises customers might need to download, such as the Controller, Event Service, and EUM server.
We also provide pre-selection personalization of agent and platform types. Every time you log in, we’ll provide your last agent or platform selection. Personalization will help you find what you’re looking for quickly and efficiently.
Coming Soon! Controller Compatibility
We have provided the Compatible with the Controller version filter to facilitate showing you the latest version of the agent(s) that you need to download. Now, you’ll only see what is relevant based on the filter selections you make.
Download Methods
If you programmatically download products into your CI/CD pipelines, there is no impact to you. If you want to learn more about how to download programmatically, please read Download AppDynamics Software . Our new UI will also help if you're going to download an agent directly from a server using cURL.
NOTE: cURL capability is available as of August 2020.
Our Goal
We want to ensure the artifacts you’d like to download are easily visible. We’re confident that these updates will improve your downloading experiences.
Please read the FAQ to learn more… And, i f you have questions and comments, we’d love to hear from you!

Beginning in March 2020, AppDynamics will switch to “Calendar Versioning” for the entire product suite to help you easily understand the length of support, compatibility, and stability of any release.
This means that the calendar-based format will incorporate the date of release into the version number. The convention will be as follows: yy.m.x (e.g., 20.3.0 for a March 2020 release) rather than in an x.y.z format (e.g., 4.5.18). These changes will be reflected on our downloads page.
The switch doesn’t impact your current versions and won’t require you to upgrade. Releases will remain generally backward and forward compatible.

What is Calendar Versioning?
Beginning in March 2020, AppDynamics will switch from Semantic Versioning to Calendar Versioning for the entire product suite to help you more easily understand the length of support, compatibility, and stability of any release.
So, rather than version numbers in an x.y.z format (i.e., 4.5.18), the calendar-based format will reflect the date of release into the version number. The format will read yy.m.x .
For example, if a Java agent is released in March of 2020, it’s version will begin with 20.3.0. When the Java agent team releases again in the month of March, the new agent will be 20.3.1.
What happens if we get a second release in the same month? The version would be 20.3.2, and so on. Likewise, the first release of September will be 20.9.0, while the first release of October will be 20.10.0.
Why are we switching to Calendar Versioning?
Calendar-based versioning ensures all customer-facing releases follow a consistent naming schema. This makes it easier to understand how old a release is and until how long it is maintained and supported. AppDynamics will generally provide Maintenance and Support for 12 months following the next major release. For example, if version 20.3.0 is released on March 2020, and 20.6.0 is released on June 2020, then AppDynamics will generally provide Maintenance and Support for version 20.3.0 until June 2021.
Will Calendar-based version component(s) work with previous versions of the Controller and Agents?
We understand that every customer may not upgrade their Controller(s) or Agents as soon as new versions are released. As we move to Calendar Versioning, AppDynamics will continue to be generally forward and backward compatible: 4.5.x Controller will continue to support 4.5.x and 20.3.x Agents; 20.3.0 Controller will continue to support 4.5.x and 20.3.x Agents.

20.3.x+
4.4.x+, 4.5.x+, 20.3.x+
What is our Release Policy?
We release a new version only when it contains net new functionality or a fix. We may not release versions in every month if there are no new changes since the last release. In cases where we don’t release a new version within consecutive months, you may see a gap in versioning. For example, while the version of Enterprise Console released in March would be 20.3.0, if the next release isn't until June, its version will be 20.6.0.

No there has been no huge demand to report License count per application in GUI. As per seeing license usage at a Tier level, you can actually go to the application flow diagram and see how many java agents etc. are being used for the time span you're interested in.
