Question:

Is it required to import the certificate for analytics.api.appdynamics.com for communicating over https?

Answer:

Our SaaS end points uses certificates signed by trusted authority which is trusted by standard truststore. If our agent is talking directly to the saas end point, we do not need to add the certificates.

However if the agent talks to the analytics end point using a proxy or it is using a JDK with its own custom keystore, we may need to add the server certificate for the analytics end point. Below is the steps to get the certificate:

1. Access https://analytics.api.appdynamics.com/_ping and click on the lock icon. Click on More Information from the drop down.

2. It will display you security information. Click on view certificate. After the certificate box opens, click on Details tab.

3. In this tab you have option to export the certificate.
