Hi All,
Does anyone know exactly where to include the proxy details (explicit proxy) in the agents of AppD version 4.5.4.6296 (for windows and linux)? I would also like to know the exact syntax to use.
Thank you in advance.
Paulo.

Hi,
You can refer to this link for the JVM parameters.
-Dappdynamics.http.proxyHost
-Dappdynamics.http.proxyPort
Refer to below
In Windows
If you have installed the machine agent as service then navigate to the bin folder of machine agent and edit the file MachineAgentService.vmoptions.
Add the above flags with the value each in a new line and restart the machine agent.
For Linux
https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO45/Where+to+Specify+Machine+Agent+Configuration
If you still face issue, feel free to reach out to us by creating ticket by going to Help & Support -> Support Portal.
Thanks,
Mithun

What if we need to communicate with controller via proxy, but not with the monitored services (i.e. when using extensions for kafka etc.)? Are there any parameters like -Dappdynamics.http.nonProxyHost to whitelist them? Or how do we solve this problem?

Hi @David.Machacek,
This thread has not been active since 2018, I think it would be good for you to re-ask this question on the forums as a new question giving as much context and detail as possible. It will get more visibility across the community that wat.
Thanks,
Ryan, Cisco AppDynamics Community Manager
