The Events Service for version 4.3 requires Java 1.8. This is outlined in our documentation under the Events Service "General Requirements" section.

To set up 1.8 JRE manually using the environment variables in your computer terminal:

  1. export JAVA_HOME=<path to 1.8 JRE> export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
  2. Verify that the above command worked: java -version
  3. Start the Events Service: nohup bin/ start -p conf/
