How to remove inactive smart agent in AppDynamics?

Hello,

Anyone knows if it possible to remove/delete a smart agent from the controller UI? - that is not in use anymore.

we used it for testing, and now want to remove it from the controller UI.Screenshot 2024-08-06 112321.png

Hello @.,

I asked around and this is what I heard back.

If the controller is 24.6+ and you disable the agent, it should disappear within a day or two. You have to disable (or uninstall) the agent from the host(s).

Hi,

We have already done that - deleted the smart agent on the host itself, but it's still there.

The agent got wiped about 3 weeks ago when we were done testing.

We are using:

Hi @.,

You need Controller version 24.6 or higher. You are on an older Controller version. Can you try upgrading to 24.6?

Hi,

What if we are unable to upgrade the controller (v24.4.1) to version 24.6 or higher at this time, is there a way to remove the inactive Smart Agent from the controller via the command line or from the database?  Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately, the uninstall-smart-agent instructions did not work.  I need to remove the dead/inactive Smart Agent from the controller Agent Management--->Agents--->Smart Agents section.  Thanks!
