Android Gradle Plugin 8.0 Support

Jerg.Weick

It seems even the latest

appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.2.1

is not compatible with the lastest Android Gradle Plugin

com.android.tools.build:gradle:8.0.0

as the Transform API is removed: https://developer.android.com/reference/tools/gradle-api/7.2/com/android/build/api/transform/Transfo...

An exception occurred applying plugin request [id: 'adeum']
> Failed to apply plugin 'adeum'.
> API 'android.registerTransform' is removed.

Is there anything i can do besides downgrading the Android Gradle Plugin?

cheers,

Jerg

Hi @Ryan.Paredez

thanks. New version seems to be available. Unfortunately, it's not possible to use the latest version from Maven. Can you help me with this?

Hi @Paul.Wyszynski,

Can you provide more context please and I'll see if I can get you some help.

It's not possible to use how. Are you getting any errors? The more detail you can provide the better others can help.

Thanks,

According to this page https://docs.appdynamics.com/paa a new Android Agent version 23.6.0 is released.

We're are using this dependency in our project as a maven dependency:

classpath 'com.appdynamics:appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.6.0'

Unfortunately, there is no new version available in the maven repo

Could not resolve all files for configuration ':classpath'.
   > Could not find com.appdynamics:appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.6.0.

Hi @Ryan.Paredez ,

I don't think the community can fix this. I think this has to be forwarded to the devs who are in charge of releasing it to Maven.

Hi @Paul.Wyszynski copy that. Let me track down the PM and let them know.

Hi, @Paul.Wyszynski it seems there is work being done with regard to Maven. I tracked down a few internal tickets. I will share what info I have here when I know more about a release/fix.
