I'd like to create a policy action to reset the [Java] agent on a node. We will use it to reset the agent based on a health rule violation.
I admit that this sounds like an odd thing to do, but this is a workaround for an issue we are seeing in the Java agent on one of our application tiers until we can upgrade that agent in our production environment.
My guess is that we will have to create a script to use the API to reset the AppDynamics agent on the AFFECTED_ENTITY_NAME or AFFECTED_ENTITY_ID. Then have that script be the custom action for a node-level health rule. I haven't found the exact API call to make but I wanted to double-check that my strategy is sound before moving ahead with the detailed implementation.
