Can't disable HTTP interface (on-prem)

Using these instructions: https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO44/Controller+SSL+and+Certificates#ControllerSSLandCertifica...

We installed a CA signed cert and verified TCP/8181 over SSL is working correctly with the new identify cert.

Followed the process to disable TCP/8090 http listener and modified domain.xml as described. Tried to start the controller/db in Enterprise Console after the changes but the controller never started and the job remains stuck "In Progress" - going for 8+ hours now.

Restored the original domain.xml and controller started as expected.

Thanks for help!

Please let us know if it helps.

Re: Can't disable HTTP interface (on-prem)

Hi Yogesh,

Unfortunately that article does not answer the question of how to reconfigure EC to use https instead of http to validte controller start. May you please tell how we may do that? Disabling http makes controller unreachable for the EC.

Best regards

Re: Can't disable HTTP interface (on-prem)

Hi,

We understand that you are looking for the support of https for the enterprise console. This has been introduced in 4.5 controllers (not released yet), however it been backported in 4.4.3.

Please go through the below documentation and let us know if that helps.

https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO44/HTTPS+Support+for+the+Enterprise+Console

Thanks,

Yogesh
