Hello,

I am using Saas Controller and want to add my Oracle dbagent to monitor requests to db. I am a bit confused about the step when creating Database Collector that asks for Database address. Does it mean that my database should be accessible from internet?

5-th step sucessfully passed, the problem is on 6-th step. (and on 7-th because of 6-th)

In Documentation I just found the folllowing:

Hostname or IP Address: (for all databases) Specify the hostname or IP address of the machine serving the database. The hostname or IP address appears in the Hostname column of the Collector Administration window.

Thanks

Think, those configurations on UI Controller are sent to db agent and that agent uses those configs to connect to database.
Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting the question.

Production servers, in general, are not exposed to the Internet and a proxy takes the role of communicating with other machines. Looking at various community posts, I found a similar question which has an accepted solution.

The solution recommends using a reverse proxy described in this documentation

Hope this answers to your question.

Thank you

Radhika
