Bug Report: June 2020 downloads API breaking change

Hello,
My name is Kenneth DuMez and I am an engineer for VMware on the Buildpacks Release Engineering team.

I tried to find a better channel of communicating this, but couldn't find a way to report a bug on your site.

It appears that the June 2020 Accounts Download change discussed here broke the download.appdynamics.com downloader API. The post linked above indicated that there would be no breaking change to existing automation which is critical for us as we consume the appdynamics php agent in our PHP buildpack.

For example both of these queries, which were working up until a few weeks ago (and which are also included in the appdynamics documentation), now both return empty arrays with a positive status code.

Just wanted to make you folks aware of this bug and was wondering if there were any plans to fix it in the future, as it has broken some of our automation pipelines and we are totally blocked on this.

Thanks,
Kenneth DuMez

Hi @Kenneth.DuMez,

Thanks for your patience. It was suggested you use this link https://download.appdynamics.com/download/downloadfilelatest as it is documented.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Hi @Ryan.Paredez ,

Unfortunately this does not help us, as this only returns the latest version of each agent. For our purposes we need to have ALL versions available and queryable as was supported in your API before the June 2020 update.

This is in case we need to rebuild an older version or if our automation misses a version. With the updates to your downloader API unfortunately querying older versions is now impossible.

That being said, would it be possible to add this functionality back to the API? Or is there another way we can query for versions other than latest?

Thanks again for looking into this!
