PHP 8.0 agent cannot start

Amit.Singh

Hi Team,

We cannot get the appdynamics php agent to load on php8.

This is the startup error we are encountering:

 php -v
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'appdynamics_agent.so' (tried: /usr/lib64/php/modules/appdynamics_agent.so (/usr/lib64/php/modules/appdynamics_agent.so: undefined symbol: zend_vm_stack_copy_call_frame), /usr/lib64/php/modules/appdynamics_agent.so.so (/usr/lib64/php/modules/appdynamics_agent.so.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)) in Unknown on line 0

Zend Engine v4.0.12, Copyright (c) Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v8.0.12, Copyright (c), by Zend Technologies

appdynamics-php-agent-21.7.0.4560-1.x86_64.rpm is the version we are using.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Amit Singh

Hi @Amit.Singh,

I have found out this is a known issue and the team has already identified the fix. The fix would be mostly available with the next GA version of the agent. I can't give a specific date or time frame when that might be.

I'll do my best to update this thread when it has gone live.

Thanks,

Hi @Amit.Singh,

I have been told a new version of the agent has been released (21.11) and it should fix the issue. Can you please update and let me know if you continue to have the same issue.
