Controlling the order in which data series are displayed on a timeseries graph

I would like some help with controling the order, as in front to back order, in which my metrics are displayed on timeseries graphs. I cannot see where this might be done?

Example: I have a timeseries graph displaying 9 metric series. Some are always larger than others so, when displaying them as type "area" I require the larger ones to be behind the smaller ones, otherwise I end up with this which is pretty rubbish:

I have tried adding Series Names to control the order in whch they appear in the config pane but it makes no difference to how they are displayed on the graph. Any ideas?

As far as I can tell you have to add them in the order you want to display them, so you have to know which is the higher numbered metric before you add them and add them in order, which is far from ideal.
